The Museums and Cultural Affairs Department- City of El Paso is well under way in planning one its signature events that is going on its 5th year. This year Chalk the Block 2012 will host some amazing interactive art installations from different parts of the country and the world.
The Festival started out as a small community event in downtown El Paso that featured local and regional chalk artists showcasing their talents using chalk as their medium. It has now blown up to a three day free festival that host about 40,000 people annually. You can interact with performers, art installations, buy handmade art, listen to live music and grab a bite to eat. This is a truly a great family event that is unlike no other in the region.
