Texas Voters-Get involved!  9 more days.  Vote "for" these two propositions.

Proposition 1.   This will increase homestead exemption for school districts from $15,000 to $25,000.  Homeowners in Canutillo ISD will save an estimated $153.00, YISD-$136.00,Socorro ISD-127.00.  We know in due time the appraisal district will offset these gains but at least it will be a reduction for the near future.  The state will cover any losses that the school districts lose.  So they say.

There is another provision within proposition 1 and more important.  This amendment will prevent state and local governments from ever collecting a sales tax (transfer tax) on real estate transactions.  And we know how governments are always broke.

Proposition 7.  All this amendment will do is to divert more money into our highway infrastructure .  We all know how our roads and bridges need repair, not to mention how our roads are congested as well.
